Iraqi Vice President Nouri al-Maliki in a message on Sunday night extended condolences on the demise of late Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Iraqi President Fuad Masum and Chairman of Iraqi National Coalition Ammar Hakim also in separate messages expressed condolences on demise of former Iranian president.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday expressed deep grief over the death of Iranian politician Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who breathed his last yesterday in Tehran.
He said Rafsanjani was an influential figure not only in Iran but also a symbol of reconciliatory peace efforts at the international level.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also issued a message of condolence on the occasion of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani’s demise.
He prayed to almighty God for his soul to rest in peace and inspire Iran's president, its people and his family.
Kuwait's ruling emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, sent condolences over Rafsanjani, saying he "prayed to Allah the almighty to bestow blessings on the deceased."
Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also sent condolences over Rafsanjani's death.
Bahrain's Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifah posted a message on his Twitter account expressing his condolences on passing away of Iran’s former president.
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan also expressed his condolences over the loss of Rafsanjani and extended his sympathy to his family.
Addressing President Rouhani, the emir of Kuwait also xpressed grief over the demise of Ayatollah Rafsanjani and prayed to Allah to “bestow blessings upon the deceased”.
Further, Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Organization expressed sorrow over the passing away of Iran's former president issuing a message.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was also among the officials who extended condolences to Iranian government and nation.
Cavusoglu said in a Twitter message he was “deeply saddened” by the demise of Rafsanjani.
Ayatollah Rafsanjani passed away in a hospital in Tehran on Sunday at the age of 82 due to heart disease.
